Stages of the Garda Recruitment Process 2024 / 2025

Stage 1

Online Verbal, Numerical Assessment Tests, Questionnaire and Written Exercise Remotely Proctored (Supervised)

Stage 2

Competency Based Interview, Carried out via the Zoom Platform. Initially the top group of candidate from Stage 1 will be invited to Interviews. Further groups may be invited from time to time as required.

Stage 3

Appointment process carried out by An Garda Síochána following success at interview and eligibility checks carried out by PAS to include physical competence test, medical, substance misuse (controlled drug), testing and vetting.

Note
Stages 1 and 2 of the selection process will be conducted by the Public Appointments Service with Stage 3 being conducted by An Garda Síochána. Candidates who qualify and meet the eligibility requirements following interview will go forward for consideration for appointment by An Garda Síochána.

As candidates progress through the various stages/elements of the selection and appointment
process, they should make themselves available for any dates communicated to them as it may not be
possible to reschedule.

It is envisaged that successful applicants from this campaign may be considered for intakes into
the Garda College during 2024 and 2025.
