Officer Cadetship - Air Corps, Army and Navy Aptitude Test Preparation Course - Intensive Weekend Course 2011 (2 day)

Introduction

Increasingly in recent years Aptitude Tests are being used as part of the selection process for many careers. One such career is the Defence Forces Officer Cadetship Competition where the test determines whether or not applicants are cleared to the interview stage of the selection process. Performance of candidates in aptitude tests can be improved in a number of ways. These include exposure to tests (i.e. seeing tests in advance), by practice and by being taught good test technique. Throughout the course good test technique will be taught and developed.

Types of Tests Covered

• Verbal Reasoning
• Numerical Reasoning
• Job simulation exercises

Emphasis will be placed on tests similar to those used in previous competitions for the selection of Officer Cadets and on tests, which assess skills relevant to the position of Cadet in the Defence Forces.

If for any reason the Cadet Aptitude Test changes Test Preparations will make such amendments as are necessary to our preparation courses to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest quality programme possible.

A recent survey of previous Test Preparations course participants showed a 97% success rate at Stage 1 of the selection process, many of whom were in the top one hundred places.

Not only do we cover material very similar to what appears on the actual aptitude test but we also explain it in such a way that participants can apply what they learn to any type of questions which appear on the actual test.

To Secure a Place on the course

A deposit (non refundable) of €75.00 is required in advance (by Wednesday 13th April). The remaining €120.00 to be paid at enrolment on the first morning of the course.

Light refreshments will be available during breaks throughout the weekend.

To reserve a place on the course, please print out and complete this application form and return it enclosing a deposit of €75.00 (non refundable) Cheques, Postal Orders or Bank Drafts only payable to Test Preparations by Wednesday 13th April.

As there are a limited number of places available on the course (maximum 30 students) these will be allocated to those who return booking forms first. If applicants cannot be facilitated on a course, due to over subscription, deposits will be returned, or at the applicant’s request be used to reserve a place on a future course.

Test Preparations have been holding these courses at the Dublin Tutorial Centre since 1996 and during this time have had an extremely high success rate at both the Aptitude test and Interview stages of the selection process.

Qualifications

All Test Preparations Instructors are qualified teachers, holding either an Honours or Masters Degree and Higher Diploma in Education. In addition to this our principal Instructor, Paul O'Reilly is qualified in test administration to British Psychometric Society Standards.
